TRAVERSE CITY BEER WEEK NOVEMBER 2018

TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN: How do you know you’re in a pretty great place? A combination of 20 craft breweries, brewpubs and taprooms might be one indicator. This November 9-16, celebrate the ever-evolving craft beer industry of northern Michigan at Traverse City Beer Week (TCBW).

The week-long festival includes several events, each one developed jointly between brewers, restaurants and retailers to educate or offer insight into some aspect of the craft beer movement. Whether that be a special product or style of beer, a food-beer pairing experience or a quirky mashup of beer and culture, each year the lineup varies. This year’s events include the TC Ale Trail IPA Challenge, the Flapjack and Flannel Festival, the Great Beerd Run 5K at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, plus more events added to the mix every day. For a regularly updated list of TCBW festivities, check out traversecity.com/tcbw.

Traverse City Tourism President and CEO Trevor Tkach is looking forward to the hoppy times in and around the Cherry Capital of the World. “Traverse City is filled with creative entrepreneurs who have made a profession doing what they love. Our brewing community is a bold example of that, and in doing so, they’ve added a fresh, cultural flavor that both visitors and residents enjoy,” Tkach commented.

And it’s a culture that’s allured countless food and drink enthusiasts around the world.

Since 2012, when Draft Magazine named Traverse City one of “America’s Emerging Beer Towns” and the Travel Channel listed it among the “Top Seven Beer Destinations in North America,” the town’s beer scene has yet to slow down. It’s served up perfectly with the region’s eclectic eats, which have earned it the reputation of “#1 Foodie Destination in the Midwest Region” by Reward Expert, one of The Daily Meal’s “Most Under-the-Radar Food Towns in America,” and on the list of “America’s Five Top Foodie Towns” by Bon Appetit.

Traveling participants of TCBW are invited to save on their northern getaway with Fab Fall discounts. Save on lodging, downtown dining, entertainment and more through December 14 at fabfall.comTCBW partners remind guests to enjoy festivities thoughtfully, responsibly and to utilize local transportation when needed.
